It was a tough loss for the US at the World Cup last night, falling to Belgium 2-1 in extra time. That's not to say they didn't play well, it was an intense game throughout. However... The US dropped the ball just a little and left a lot of the work to their goal keeper, Tim Howard.

He might just get cast as the next Captain America. Tim Howard might as well have had a shield on throughout the game. He was incredible, racking up 16 saves during the whole game, including extra time. He did all he could do. His team just didn't pick up the slack  falling behind 2-0 in the first few minutes of extra time. (The goal off the fresh foot of 18 year old Julian Green, his first touch of the game, did helped out a bit though.)

While there was a game going on, Twitter was exploding with hilarious Tweets about Tim's insane blocks and saves. Here are some of my favorites:

Of course a hashtag was quickly created: #ThingsTimHowardCouldSave

Thanks, Tim and to all the men on the US soccer team. You guys represented us well (you didn't bite anyone!) we're proud of you!
