Niche.Com put together a list of the Best High Schools in New York State for 2017 and three Hudson Valley schools made the list.

Every year Niche.com puts together a best list. Best places to live, best schools to attend and so on and so forth. When it comes to ranking high schools, Niche breaks it down into a few categories like public, boarding and Catholic schools. They also use information based on analysis of academic and student life data, test scores, college data and ratings collected from the Niche website.

The list this year includes three Hudson Valley high schools in the top 100.New Paltz Central School District comes in at 67, Haldane Central Schools in Cold Spring arrive at number 84, and Spackenkill Union Free School District in Poughkeepsie shows up at number 96. Culture & Diversity, Academics, Health & Safety, Teachers,Resources & Facilities,Clubs & Activities and Sports are all factors that are considered when rating the schools. Niche.com also surveys parent and student experiences. According to the website they have surveyed 18,793 public schools.
