While many local haunted attractions are preparing for Halloween, an Upstate New York attraction is getting to rebuild.

Upstate NY Haunted Attraction Suffers Devastating Fire

Field of Horrors in Troy, New York had just posted on social media that they were looking for seasonal scare actors for the upcoming spooky season.

Unfortunately, shortly after that post they shared an update that no one wants to hear: a fire broke out on the property.

In a statement shared to social media Field of Horrors writes "Today has been one of the most difficult days in Field of Horrors history. Earlier today, our haunted attraction suffered a devastating fire."

They continue:

While our hearts are heavy as we begin to process what happened, we are incredibly thankful that no one was injured and for the overwhelming response from the first responders who worked tirelessly to protect our property and everyone involved.

Field of Horrors went on to thank the 22 fire departments, police departments and local municipalities that showed up to battle the blaze.

Field of Horrors Plans To Rebuild After July 2026 Fire

With the 2026 Halloween season approaching, Field of Horrors shared their plans for the future.

In the Facebook statement Field of Horrors states "This fire may have damaged our attraction, but it hasn’t taken away the passion behind it."

Field of Horrors says they plan to do everything they can to be ready for spooky season this year.

They write

Field of Horrors has always been about creating unforgettable memories. Thanks to this incredible community, we’re confident the next chapter will be our strongest yet.

As updates come in, we'll make sure to keep you in the loop about the status of Field of Horrors scare season 2026.

Hudson Valley Haunted Attractions Start Teasing Upcoming Scare Season

By the end of July, local haunted attractions start teasing their themes and plans for the upcoming spooky season.

Pure Terror Scream Park in Tuxedo is already shared their opening weekend date (September 18th, 2026) and new additions to the scare lineup this year: Frank N’ Brew Mixology Bar:

Looks like a hauntingly good time!

They're also adding new photo op set ups and there's the new Gargoyle Den. In the Gargoyle Den you'll "Journey through abandoned cemeteries and crumbling crypts as the ancient guardians rise once more."
