
This Hudson Valley Trail has Poetry Scattered Throughout
The beautiful weather this past weekend had everyone out and about in the Hudson Valley.
I took myself over to Staatsburgs, Mills Mansion for a little lunch on the hill and hike after. If you didn't know they have several long trails along the property. I'm not sure which one I was following, but it was narrow and right along the Hudson.
There were some amazing views and out-coves that peaked my interest, so I did some exploring. I came across a piece of paper that was surround by sea glass. Obviously it's not something you see every day in the middle of the woods.
As I tried to take a picture a voice behind me said "Here, let me give you one of your own."
Two ladies who were wrapping up their hike had a bag filled of papers and sea glass. Each piece of paper had an excerpt from a poem written on it. I, unfortunately, didn't get the their names, but they informed me that they leave little poems along the trail all the time.
April is special to them because apparently it's National Poetry Month.
