The Leaves are Changing, Hudson Valley
We're heading into the official start of fall in the Hudson Valley.
Monday, September 23rd marks the official autumnal equinox and we're already feeling and seeing remnants of it here in the Valley.
The Department of Environmental Conservation and I Love NY are keeping us updated as to what we can expect foliage wise, in the area.
According to the map below, we are just starting to see some changes.
Official foliage reporters are saying that Dutchess county can "expect 5% color change with some yellow and orange leaves." Columbia and Orange county are seeing anywhere from 10% to 15% in color change, while it's taking a little longer in Rockland county who is coming in at 5%.
Before you know it, the city crowds will be making their way "up north" to go apple and pumpkin picking while checking out our prime foliage real estate.
Take a hike, rent a kayak, ride a bike and watch the colors change right before your eyes.
