The list of virtual events keeps getting longer and longer.

Like most events that have been scheduled to take place over the last few months, the 43rd annual Spirit of Beacon Day has decided to take their celebration virtual this year due to COVID-19, according to their website.

Like many years past, Spirit of Beacon Day was set to be a huge celebration and parade that would head down main street in Beacon but with everything going on with COVID-19 this years spirit day will be a bit different.

Spirit Day will take place on Sunday September 27th as previously planned but instead of the traditional parade, this year there will be a Neighborhood Drive Through which will consist of groups of caravans that will make their way through city of Beacon neighborhoods.

The caravans will each have vehicles that will represent many local organizations including schools, community groups, veterans and first responders.

Organizers of this event are asking residents to get ready to watch the drive through from their homes and front porches and if possible everyone is encouraged to decorate their front yards by making homemade signs, banners or community messages to display throughout the month of September.

Organizers have also said that they are currently putting together a virtual concert that will be live streamed on Facebook and on the Spirit of Beacon website on Sunday September 27th.

The concert will feature music, community video messages and much more. With more details to be announced at the beginning of September.
