One local high school football team took their entrance to new levels.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

When you think of Sleepy Hollow, New York the first thing to pop into your mind is probably the Headless Horseman.

Washington Irving wrote The Legend of Sleepy has captivated audiences for centuries. Irving tells the tale of a headless horseman who terrorizes the small Hudson Valley town of Sleepy Hollow. The story can be found in The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.

With that being said, it makes sense that the local football team mascot would be called The Horseman.

Sleepy Hollow Football Team Brings Out Iconic Mascot in One-of-a-Kind Entrance

Locally, the Sleepy Hollow football team is going somewhat viral. MaxPrep, a statistics website for high school sports teams, shared a video of the Sleepy Hollow football team taking the field during a home game last week.

They were led out by none other than, The Headless Horseman:

To be honest, I'd be a little shaken up if I was on the visiting team.

Sleepy Hollow went on to beat Hendrick Hudson 29-6.

Is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow The Best Local Legend?

We can't talk about that iconic entrance without talking about the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
