Albany County is trying to ban flavored tobacco products. Could Ulster, Dutchess, Orange and Sullivan counties be next?

According to News 10, lawmakers in Albany county held a public hearing recently to start the process of passing something called Local Law E that would ban flavored tobacco products from being sold.

Flavored tobacco products like Juul and many others have really taken off lately as smokers are using them to help in the process of quitting smoking but some experts have said that some of these products could be more dangerous than smoking.

See Won Seo who works as a professor teaching people and students about the effects of smoking told News 10 that, “Electronic cigarettes can cause acute lung injury, restrictive lung disease.”

He also said that new data says vaping and e-cigarettes could be more dangerous.

The proposed law will be revisited in November for Albany County. Do you think this is something that should be done here in the Hudson Valley? Would you support a law like this? Text us through the Wolf App anytime.
