Section of Route 9 Closed Monday
Here is how this might affect your commute Monday in to Tuesday.
If you have travelled on Route 9 in the Fishkill area over the last few months, there has been a bunch of construction going on that has caused major delays and it looks more delays are coming.
According to the Poughkeepsie Journal and the State Department of Transportaion the northbound and southbound lanes on Route 9 in the Town of Fishkill will be closed between Elm Street and Merritt Boulevard from 8 p.m. Monday June 3rd to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4th.
The DOT also wants to reminds all drivers to use caution when traveling through all work zones and to make sure to follow the posted detour. If your commute normally takes you through that section of Route 9 on Monday or Tuesday, you should expect substantial delays.
As a reminder. if you get caught speeding in a work zone, fines are doubled. If you are convicted of two or more speeding violations in a work zone, you can have your drivers license suspended for an extended period of time.
