This may sound strange since I am lucky enough to work in radio and it's my job to listen to all kinds of music, new, old, live, studio, acoustic, etc. Saturday night is usually the one night of the week when my husband and I slow down long enough to either listen to our new favorite albums, or find a concert movie or music documentary to watch. Well, tonight I finally got to see the documentary "Lost on the River:The New Basement Tapes and I loved it!

Lost on the River was produced by T Bone Burnett and features a group of musicians recording under the name of The New Basement Tapes—Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens, Taylor Goldsmith, Jim James and Marcus Mumford. The album is a series of tracks based on recently uncovered lyrics handwritten by Bob Dylan in 1967.

Watching these musicians pool their talents and even overcome their insecurities to make this music come alive was amazing. I downloaded the album as soon as it was over. Here are some of the highlights.
