Bad news if you went out and picked up the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung just announced that they are preparing toissue a massive recall of the new Galaxy Note 7 smartphone because of a problem with the battery in some of the phones. The problem has to do with the phones allegedly catching fire while charging, according to CNN Money.

It was reported earlier by Yonhap that there have been at least 5 reported claims of the phone catching fire while charging.

Samsung has said that they have stopped selling the phones as of now and in the next few weeks will offer customers who purchased a Note 7 a new product for free.

Around 2.5 million Note 7's have been sold so far and the massive recall is going to cost the company, according to Koh Dong-jin, president of Samsung's mobile communications business, "It is a big amount that is heartbreaking."

The Note 7 came out about a month ago and had some cool features, like an iris scanner, which allows users to unlock the phone with their eyes.

A recall of this size will take some time and as soon as Samsung announces what steps need to be taken to trade in the Note 7 we will update you right here.
