Mission Success: Red Hook Fire Company Donations Now In Tennessee
Last week I told you about various fire departments in the Hudson Valley that were taking in donations for Hurricane Helene victims.
One particular story was about the Red Hook Fire Company having adopted a Tennessee fire department that had lost everything in the Hurricane. Elk Mills Volunteer Fire Department was adopted by the Red Hook Fire Company and they were on a mission to help.

During Hurricane Helene, Elk Mills lost everything. Fire Trucks were damaged. The Firehouse was wrecked and equipment was lost. As you can imagine they were desperate for help so that they could help their community.
The Red Hook Fire Department shared its story and asked the Hudson Valley to give what they could. Fast forward to this week. The Red Hook Fire Company was able to pack up 3 trailers and head toward Tennessee.
Hudson Valley Donates Items and Money to Help Tennessee Fire Company
In a Facebook post this week Red Hook disclosed that over 250 people made donations both physical items and money. They ended up with three trailers loaded full.
As a final recap, we had over 250 people donate between physical items and monetarily. There were several thousands of dollars in supplies donated including gear, hoses, personal hygiene, baby items, household items, medical supplies, and more as well as over $11,000 in checks/cash. We can’t thank you all enough for helping us help others. (Red Hook Fire Company via Facebook)
And after a whirlwind trip down and back the crew made it home safe on Thursday Afternoon.
