We have all heard of local fire departments rescuing people and even animals in distress, but this story has an interesting twist. This time, it took a fire department and a police department working together to rescue a bird in a tree.

Yes, I said they rescued a bird from a tree. It might seem a bit unusual, but it is not unheard of for a bird to need assistance. Normally, you hear about a bird stuck in a building or even injured on the side of the road, but apparently, they can also get stuck in trees, as was the case for this Hawk.

The cemetery sits alongside New York Route 59 in the Town of Ramapo. It has many tall trees that would make it the perfect spot for a hawk to keep an eye out for a meal, not to mention it is directly across from a Burger King. I am not saying that the smell of cooking hamburgers is what attracted the hawk, but I imagine it could have been a factor.

Police and Fire Department Work Together to Free Bird Caught in a Tree

The Town of Ramapo Police Department, along with the Tallman Fire Department, successfully freed the hawk from the tree. The police and fire department eventually safely freed the bird, which quickly flew off unharmed.
