Police are actively seeking a 26-year-old suspect in a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 15th, 2026, in Orange County, NY.

Numerous police agencies in the Hudson Valley are actively trying to locate 26-year-old David Rombousek after police say he was allegedly involved in a homicide in the City of Port Jervis, NY.

Police in Port Jervis have announced that the suspect has been captured.

"On February 15, 2026, at approximately 7:35 p.m., members of the Port Jervis Police Department took the suspect, David Rombousek, into custody on Ball Street in the City’s Fourth Ward, without incident," said the Port Jervis Police Department. "We would like to thank all assisting agencies and members of the public for their cooperation in bringing this incident to a swift resolution."

Police Search for Murder Suspect in Orange County, NY

The Port Jervis Police Department, along with the New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, is currently attempting to locate David Rombousek, who they said is a suspect in a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours of February 15, 2026, on Hammond Street in the City of Port Jervis.

As you can see in the pictures(above/below), Rombousek is a white male with brownish hair and numerous tattoos on his head, arms, chest, and other parts of his body.

Suspect Armed and Dangerous in Port Jervis, NY

Police didn't share any other details about the incident, but did say that Rombousek is considered armed and dangerous. They also said that if anyone sees the suspect, DO NOT approach or try to apprehend.
