Police Investigate Fatal Car vs Motorcycle Accident in Upper Hudson Valley

State Police investigated a fatal motorcycle vs car accident that occurred on Route 9W in the upper Hudson Valley.

State Police from Catskill say the fatal accident occurred on 9W at the intersection of Aquetuck Road in the Town of New Baltimore around 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

An investigation revealed that a 2004 Mercury operated by Patricia Merrill,54, of Ravena, was attempting to turn left onto 9W from Aquetuck Road when she pulled out into the path of a 2008 Harley Davidson being operated by 51-year-old Mark Stangle, of Feura Bush.

Stangle was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Merrill, who was not injured in the crash, was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way entering a roadway.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and the New Baltimore Fire Dept.
