An alleged Hudson Valley heroin dealer is accused of possessing over $50,000 worth of heroin.

On Tuesday, member of the Kingston Police Department's Special Investigations Unit and the URGENT Task Force finished an investigation into drug sales and trafficking in the City of Kingston and surrounding areas.

Police arrested Michael E. Rodriguez following a search warrant at his home on Center Street in Connelly.

Officers allegedly seized over 13 ounces of heroin, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.

According to Havoscope, a website that describes itself as “a sort of Consumer Report for the underworld,” 13 ounces of heroin has a street value between $40,539 and $73,708 in the United States.

Rodriguez was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned in Kingston City Court and sent to Ulster County Jail without bail.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected, police say.
