Price Chopper & Market 32 Ending Its Popular Rewards Program in New York
If you're one of the thousands of New Yorkers who use your grocery rewards to save money at the gas pump, you'll want to know about a big change happening this week.
Price Chopper and Market 32 Ending Popular Fuel Rewards Program
Price Chopper and Market 32 have announced they're ending their longtime Fuel AdvantEdge program with Sunoco gas stations. The program, which has helped shoppers save hundreds of millions of dollars on gas over the years, will officially come to an end on August 1st, 2026.

The Fuel AdvantEdge program has been around for nearly two decades, allowing customers to earn rewards while grocery shopping and redeem those points for discounts on fuel at participating Sunoco stations across New York.
While the company didn't say why the partnership is ending, it did say that its customers' shopping habits have changed.

Why The Change?
In a statement posted by the Times Union, Northeast Grocery, the parent company of Price Chopper and Market 32, said more customers are choosing to use their AdvantEdge Rewards for savings on groceries instead of at the gas pump.
"Market 32 and Price Chopper continually evaluate and refine programs to deliver strong value and meet the evolving preferences of our customers," the company said. "That's why we're streamlining our AdvantEdge Rewards program to reflect how customers increasingly choose to apply the value of their rewards points on the groceries and everyday essentials they purchase in our stores."

The company says its AdvantEdge Rewards program will continue, giving customers 1% back on nearly every purchase. Shoppers earn one point for every dollar spent, and every 100 points can be redeemed for $1 off future grocery purchases. Throughout the year, the stores also offer bonus promotions that allow customers to earn rewards even faster.
According to the Times Union, nearly 200 Sunoco stations across New York currently participate in the Fuel AdvantEdge program. Over the years, Price Chopper has said the program helped customers save more than $250 million on fuel.
Beginning August 1, shoppers will still earn AdvantEdge Rewards, but those points can only be redeemed for savings inside Price Chopper and Market 32 stores, not at participating Sunoco gas stations.
