One police chief in Ulster County, NY has taken to social media calling New York Governor Kathy Hochul a "complete failure to all New York State Law Enforcement and residents!"

Earlier this week we learned that numerous New York state correction officers in the Hudson Valley joined other state prison protests being held across the state to highlight safety concerns, 24-hour mandates, and more.

The protests began locally on Tuesday outside of six state facilities in Dutchess, Ulster, and Sullivan counties, and continued into Wednesday with the addition of protests outside of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Westchester County, NY leading to New York Governor Kathy Hochul threatening to deploy the National Guard to restore order.

Town of Lloyd Police Chief "Calls Out" New York Governor

Chief James Janso from the Town of Lloyd Police Department in Ulster County took to Facebook on Tuesday to share his feelings about the work stoppages as well as his department's support for all New York State Corrections Officers saying, "Town of Lloyd Police supports our New York State Corrections Officers, who put their lives on the line every day!"

Janso continued,

"Governor Hochul, you better address the issue in our prison system or resign. Once again you are a complete failure to all New York State Law Enforcement and residents!"

Janso invited the Governor to call him directly (845-691-6102) to discuss any law enforcement issues saying "I welcome the conversation!" He also encouraged all residents to contact their local Senators and Assembly members to see what they plan to do to support the New York Corrections Officers and fix what he called, "the broken NY State Prison system!"
