Plans For A Dinosaur Park in Wallkill are Excellent
How awesome would this be!!
First we had Legoland call Orange County home, and now it looks like some form of a dinosaur park could also be calling Orange County home. According to Lohud, plans for a dinosaur themed park are coming together which could bring a unique dinosaur experience to the town of Wallkill.
Plans for the park have been on the table for sometime now, and it sounds like the park cold start construction sooner than later. Town of Wallkill Supervisor Frank DenDanto announced Wednesday that the final design plans on the proposal have been submitted, but an opening date is a ways off, "I suspect it will probably take about three to four months before they’re at a place where they’re really working on construction."
The park plans that were first seen last year include dinosaur attractions that children can play on including a T-Rex rope tunnel that children can run through with it's tail as a slide. The proposed park will also have, displays of animatronic and replica dinosaurs, a train that would take visitors on a seven-minute ride around the site to view the dinosaurs. It will also feature a bunch of way's for kids to learn including, a fossil area where children will be able to analyze fossils and an area for them to dig for replica dinosaur teeth to take home.
The proposed location for the park is to be set on 136 acres, just off exit 16 of Route 17, at the intersection of Weld and Tarbell roads in the Town of Wallkill. Supervisor DenDanto told Lohud that clearing of the land for the park could begin as early as late May.
