Pets of the Week With the DCSPCA

The Dutchess County SPCA offers a full range of services from adoption, humane law enforcement, a low-cost medical clinic, and more. The DCSPCA Thrift Shoppe, with great finds for people, is open  Monday-Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. You can find them at 600 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park (about ¼ mi. south of the shelter). Great bargains and new items every day!

Blaster and Matt.

Are you looking for a pair of guinea pigs that are lovable and cuddly? Blaster and Matt are two brothers who came to the shelter together and would be a great addition to any home! They are very bonded to one another and would do best if they were adopted together.

Alaska.

Alaska is a fair-furred beauty that is the definition of lovable. She loves to meet new friends and will wiggle over with a smile to say hello to everyone she meets. Her perfect day would start with a nice walk, followed by snuggling with her person for the rest of the day. If you are looking for a lovable snuggle bug, come meet Alaska!

Big Boy & Salome.

Big Boy and his sister Salome are 9 years young. They have lived together their whole lives. They are frequently caught playing together and other times are curled up on their bed, always touching. They are looking for a lap, or two to call their own. Is your heart big enough to bring this pair home together?

Callie.

Callie is a lovable girl who just wants to spend all her time hanging out with people. A perfect day for Callie would include playing a long game of fetch in the yard then taking a relaxing snooze in the grass. Are you looking for someone who is going to give you lots of love and affection all day long? If so, then Callie is the girl for you!

Clooney.

Clooney loves people and he loves when people play fetch with him. His perfect day would include a hike or a jog, and then playing fetch until the sun goes down. Once all the fun is done, he would love to snuggle up on someone's lap. If you are looking for a pal to go on fun adventures with, Clooney's your man!

Bernie.

Bernie is a sweet, loving cat with very handsome yellow eyes. Bernie has oodles of love to give to his new family. He would love to be an indoor/outdoor explorer and he is very adventurous. He wouldn't mind being in a home with dogs, but he wants to be the only kitty in your life!

Caramel.

Big and beautiful is Caramel! She can be as sweet as her name and still has that frisky side to her from time to time. Caramel wants to be the only pet in your life (smaller pocket pets would be fine with her), as she wants all of your love and attention all to herself. If you would like to meet Caramel, come on in! You may find her hanging out in one of the coordinators offices - she's deemed herself the boss!

Flower.

It's spring all year round with Flower! Her beauty will make you smile and her personality and affection will make your heart melt. Flower is an older female cat, who enjoys napping and looking out the windows. She also loves to cuddle and be close to you. Flower is hard of hearing, so she gets a little startled if something springs up on her, but she would truly be happy just having a family to love her.

Tux.

Tux is a sweet older gentleman with an even sweeter face! He is reserved, mellow and would love a quiet home to spend out the rest of his years. One of his favorite things in the whole world is feeding time! Even though he's a little older, he still enjoys playing and keeping an eye on everything you're doing. If you have room in your home and heart for Tux, come on in and meet him!

Winnie.

Winnie is a mellow, sweet girl, that enjoys being pet, but on her terms. Her ideal home would be where she can get most of your attention, another cat may be ok, but she does not like dogs. Winnie would also love to explore the outdoors and lounge outside on the porch with you!
