Orange County Teachers Show Off Amazing Pumpkin Creations
A group of teachers and staff at one Hudson Valley School has gotten into the Halloween spirit this year by turning pumpkins into some unbelievable creations.
As soon as the season change from Summer to Fall every year many of us get excited to participate in everything fall-related. We've got great apple picking, beautiful fall foliage, and some of the world's best pumpkins in the Hudson Valley. With great pumpkins, we also have some amazing pumpkin carvers!
Orange County Teachers Carve Pumpkins
Earlier this month the folks at the Chester Acadamy in Orange County invited teachers and staff to show off their pumpkin carving skills. The "Hambletonians" wanted to spread a little Halloween cheer and to do that, they announced they would be holding a "Spooktaclaur Pumpkin" decorating contest. Each staff member that wanted to participate had one week to decorate/carve their pumpkins, which were provided by the CES PTA.
Take a look at a few of the submissions.....
WOW!! Amazing!!! All the pumpkins above were on display at the Chester school on Friday so that students, faculty, and staff could vote for their favorite. The winner will be selected today and when they make the announcement we will update this article with the winning pumpkin. (We don't get a vote but that hamburger pumpkin is one of the best I've ever seen!!)
School Spirit
Not only did the pumpkin event at the Chester Acadamey bring some school spirit to the school but it also was an opportunity to give the students a chance to exercise their right to vote. Staff explained to students the fundamentals of elections, opinion-forming, campaigning, debating, and voting. This a perfect example of another Hudson Valley school making learning fun! Well done!!
