Re-Rescheduled Opening Night at Orange County Fair Speedway NY

We are going to go with the third time is the charm.

Over the past two weeks, the Orange County Fair Speedway (OCFS) in Middletown, NY has been ready to hold its opening night schedule and Mother Nature has had other plans.

Opening night was originally scheduled for April 9th, 2022 but the rain made the evening's opening night races an impossibility. It took most of last week but the OCFS was able to rearrange the opening in the race schedule and blend it with the schedule for Saturday, April 16th, 2022. All looked good for the season opener to go off this past Saturday until early Saturday afternoon when, once again, the rains rolled in promising even more rain than the week before.

After two weeks of rain cancelations, things look good for this Saturday to finally get the season opener onto the track. There is going to be a robust schedule for the night and the Speedway also plans to start earlier in order to get it all in on a single Saturday night.

According to the Facebook post from earlier today (April 18, 2022), they will be opening the pit at 1 PM which will be an hour earlier than originally posted. The Grandstands and the Drive-In will both open at 3 PM and then racing will start at 5:30 PM a half-hour earlier than normal. To order tickets Reserve call the Speedway Office at 845-342-2573

Brandon Walters was lucky to not be seriously hurt Saturday night when his race car wreck at the Orange County Fair Speedway. It was a rare sight to see a car tumble three times and then end up outside the track after going over and through a fence while getting tangled up in the telephone and electric wires but fortunately everyone including Brandon walked away.

Most of us are used to seeing concerts at the Orange County Fair Grounds outside on the track but did you know they have a great indoor space as well? I was just there for Scotty McCreery's Same Truck Tour so I thought I would snap a few pictures so you can check the place out.
