So what to do in October? We know that you have trick or treating set for the 31st and depending on your social calendar you may have a costume party or two to attend. But what else can you do this month in the hudson valley?

Get out the day planner and add in a few of these dates.

October 11th is the next Wolf Cider Jam at Angry Orchard in Walden. This event is free admission from 4p to 7p. They offer free cider tasting until 5:30p and there is always live music. On the 11th you can enjoy music from members of Hill Billy Parade.

October 13th a favorite event returns for it's annual run in New Paltz. Haunted Huguenot Street runs Fridays and Saturdays starting on the 13th and runs until the end of the month. You will not only get a historical tour but you also hear tales of haunting, legends and mysteries that happened in the neighborhood throughout the years.

October 21 and 22nd you can get your knit on at the Dutchess Country Fair Grounds as they are once again the location for the Hudson Valley fall favorite, The New York State Sheep and Wool Festival. Two full days of everything wool and everything that goes with it. This is a must attend event for all ages. From the livestock that give us wool to the people who turn wool into beautiful clothing and craft. It is all there for two big days in Rhinebeck.
