Unique Family Fun Outdoors: Halloween And More In Orange County
Just because the weather has turned cold, it doesn't mean we have to stop having outdoor fun. Many of our local nature centers have programs that run throughout the entire year. One of those places is the Hudson Highlands Nature Center (HHNC) in Cornwall, New York.
They host events throughout the year for nature enthusiasts of all ages. One event they hold annually is just around the corner and is filling up fast. Don't wait to get your spot reserved for the ISpy Halloween Trail happening Saturday, October 25th, from 11 AM to 2:30 PM.
Hudson Highlands Nature Center is Holding Events in October
Join the HHNC for an afternoon of spook-tacular family fun. This "not so scary" but very entertaining trail has a special theme for 2025. Don't miss the Alien Adventure. Pre-register by visiting online hhnaturecenter.org/specialevents, or you can call (845) 534-5506 for details & registration!
If you already have Halloween plans but want to do something outdoors, put Sunday, November 9th, on your calendar for the Hawk Walk. This is an opportunity to stroll the fields and forests that make up the HHNC while accompanied by free-flighted hawks that are guided by TC Management Inc. You will be able to meet a few of the raptors up close and even hold a bird before you end your adventure.
Don't Miss the Hawk Walk at Hudson Highlands Nature Center in Cornwall
Like most events at the HHNC, you do need to preregister for the Hawk Walk. The HHNC likes to create a great experience during its events, so it limits the number of participants. Also, pre-registration allows them to gauge the number of people arriving for an event, which ensures they have enough supplies for all the guests. Pre-register at hhnaturecenter.org/specialevents or call (845) 534-5506.
