New Jersey Organization Dedicated to Finding Missing Dogs

Buddha Dog Rescue and Recovery is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization. Their goal is to reunite missing dogs with their families as they know it's often extremely stressful for the family when a pet goes missing.

While they can't guarantee that they will find your missing pup, Buddha Dog Rescue and Recovery "can guarantee the best chances of success in getting a lost dog home with our help."

They explain that they use "proven methods and techniques with state-of-the-art equipment" to help track sightings and surveillance.

With that being said, BDRR's services were needed recently in a missing dog case out of New Windsor, New York.

According to Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery, out of New Jersey, Trixie's owner reached out to them 2 days after she went missing. The owners had tried searching for Trixie by drone with no luck.

Unfortuantely, Nicole and the team at Buddha Dog Rescue and Recovery were "inundated with cases" and not able to take on Trixie's case as they were over 2 hours away.

On August 30th, 2024, Nicole received a message from a friend in the New Windsor area, worried about a dog on the run. She was hoping BDRR could get the dog to safety before the colder weather rolled in. That dog was Trixie.

Nicole collected all the information from sightings around the area of Calvary Cemetery and was able to map out possible paths and routes Trixie may take.

It's about a 3.8-mile distance from Plum Point Park to Calvary Cemetery.

Trixie Found Safe Thanks to Buddha Dog Rescue and Recovery

A trap was set and a trail of liquid smoke was spread out. BDRR reports that like clockwork, Trixie made her morning trek and ended up right in front of the BDRR trap.

Thankfully, Trixie is now in safe care at Hudson Valley SPCA. Calls to Trixie's owner have been unanswered.
