New York Officials Want To Remove Trump’s Name From Hudson Valley

If many New York lawmaker's get their wish, President Donald Trump's name will vanish from the Hudson Valley.

Now that Democrats control New York, lawmakers are reintroducing a bill that would remove Donald Trump's name now from a  state park in the Hudson Valley.

Sen. Brad Hoylman (D-Manhattan) filed two proposals. One would remove Trump's name from the Donald J. Trump State Park and another would name the park after Heather D. Heyer, who was fatally run over by a white supremacist at a Charlottesville, Virginia, rally in 2017.

“Having a park named after you is an honor Donald Trump doesn’t deserve,” Hoylman said according to Newsday. “New Yorkers should take a stand against his racism and divisiveness by renaming this state park.”

Trump donated the land which sits on the border of Putnam and Westchester counties in 2006 after plans for a golf course fell through, Newsday reports.
