New York, New York, it's a hell of a town! The city that never sleeps! Sadly Manhattan has been sleeping for over a year as we all deal with the pandemic. Encouraging news coming Thursday suggests that the city has rested long enough!

NBC 13 reports that, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio expects the city to be "fully open" by July 1st!

Our plan is to fully re-open New York City on July 1st. We are ready for stores to open, for businesses to open, offices, theaters, full strength, - De Blasio on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe'.

The Mayor is crediting the roll-out of the vaccination with 6.3 million vaccinations in New York City to date. So what does "fully re-open" really mean? CNBC is reporting that restaurants, gyms, hair salons and more brick and mortar businesses will open at full capacity.

Is the Mayor talking out of turn? He does not have the authority to lift any remaining pandemic restrictions. As Cuomo has stated before, the decisions on when restaurants and other businesses can fully open up are his decisions to make.

This would be great news for all of the business owners and for anyone wanting to visit the Big Apple once again. Good for the economy and good to taking a huge step to some sort of reality as we used to know it. Restaurants, stores, salons and more this summer. Theaters and the rest of Broadway by fall? Sounds good to me.
