It look as though it will be a beautiful 4th of July weekend here in the Hudson Valley. This weekend happens to be the most popular time for folks to head out of town for vacation. Hitting the Boardwalk is a popular vacation pastime. There are usually fair games, maybe some rides, food and of course gorgeous views.

Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and SanctuaryGarrison, New York
This one is pretty close by in Garrison. The Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary is located in Putnam County and is a bird and wildlife conservation. Placed right by the Hudson River around grasslands you're bound to see all kinds of birds flying around the Hudson Valley.

Rich Lake- Newcomb New York
Not so local, but it's only a 3-hour road trip from our area. Rich Lake is known for kayaking and fishing, but also has a beautiful secluded boardwalk you can follow around the lake.

Coney Island- Brooklyn, New York
This is a no brainer. Coney Island's Boardwalk is the summertime Times Square. It has rides, a beach and of course...food. Nathans hot dogs, anyone? Take the family for a road trip, eat some hot dogs and burn off the calories by walking the famous Coney Island boardwalk. If you go down this weekend, you might catch Joey Chestnuts inhaling a ton of hot dogs.
