New Diner Opening Soon at Familiar Location in Poughkeepsie
A completely renovated Poughkeepsie location will soon be home to a brand-new diner.
Back at the beginning of April 2024, we told you that after 73 years of serving the Hudson Valley some amazing diner foods one of Poughkeepsie, New York's iconic diners was preparing to close their doors for good.
Acropolis Diner in Poughkeepsie Closes
A Poughkeepsie's landmark diner and main street staple in the Arlington business district in Poughkeepsie for many years the The Acropolis Diner first opened in the 1950s under the name "Brighton Diner", and in 1972 it changed ownership and became the Acropolis Diner. As news of the Acropolis Diner closing began to spread across social media many in the area started to speculate what would happen to the diner located at 829 Main St, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Many guessed that it would become some sort of restaurant, maybe a fast food place in the near future. Well, the speculation can end as it appears we have an answer! The former Acropolis Diner will reopen soon under a new name!
New Diner Opening Soon in Poughkeepsie
After two months of renovations, the new City Line Diner is expected to open soon and according to the new owners, Poughkeepsie should prepare for a great authentic diner experience in a completely renovated location. We spoke to one of the owners recently and he told us that the former Acropolis Diner was completely "gutted" and built back up replacing almost everything. He told us "Guests won't even recognize the diner!"

City Line Diner Opening Soon?
Currently, the diner is still closed but one owner told us that they are hopeful to have their doors opened by the end of June and when they open they will offer everything you would find at a Greek-owned diner including great food, pastries, coffee, and more. When they open the City Line Diner will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. The City Line Diner is currently looking to staff the new diner and if anyone is looking for a new job you can email citylinedinerpk@gmail.com for more information.
