Dating is weird in 2019. There are apps galore, like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge.

With this new weird age of dating, comes strange dating terms and slang. For instance Ghosting. Ghosting is when you start talking to or go out on a date with someone and they stop talking to you out of the blue.

Well you can add another word to the list: Foodie Call.

According to ABC 7 NY, a new report shows that for some ladies the dating scene is just about the food. Also known as a "foodie call" in which a person agrees to a date, even if they're not interested in the person, just for a free meal.

Research from Azusa Pacific University and UC Merced found "23 to 33 percent of women admitted to engaging in at least one foodie call."  Accordint to the report these same women "also score high on the "dark triad" of personality traits, which includes narcissism."

It's not just the ladies though, the report focused on females but results also showed men engaging in "Foodie Calls."

Needless to say, it's tough out there in the dating world.

Have you bee on a foodie call?
