It's one of the most popular times of the year for tourist to visit the Hudson Valley.

If you're planning on going out and enjoying one of the most visited spots among said tourist, you may want to plan your day out a little earlier than originally planned.

Minnewaska State Park in Kerhonkson is notably one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Hudson Valley year round. However, the park has been known to fill up rather quickly since COVID-19 had everyone cooped up in their homes.

Add in beautiful foliage and people itching to get out and it get a bit crazy.

With that being said, this weekend according to ILoveNY.com we'll be heading into prime time when it comes to beautiful fall colors. So if you or someone you may know has hiking in their plans, this update from the New York State Parks may be crucial to future plans.

NY State Parks is reporting that Minnewaska State Park will be closing early on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 and Sunday October 4th, 2020.

There's nothing major behind the closure. Construction is being done to the main entrance. The main entrance will be closed at 4 pm and all visitors must leave the park by 6 pm.

Gertrude's Nose and scenic trails will be closed this weekend as well.

For more details on the closure and construction and to keep up with updates visit NY State Parks on Twitter or on their website.
