
Volleyball Team’s Bus Catches Fire on I-84 in Wallkill, NY
A school bus carrying a Hudson Valley volleyball team caught fire Tuesday night on Interstate 84.
A scary situation unfolded Tuesday night when a school bus carrying the Minisink Valley schools volleyball team caught fire after being rear-ended by another vehicle while driving on 84.
School Bus Catches Fire in Wallkill, New York
According to the New York State Troopers at the Greenville barracks in Orange County, it was around 9 p.m. Tuesday night when troopers were dispatched to a report of a collision involving a Minisink Valley School bus and a Hyundai Elantra on Interstate 84 in the area of milepost marker 23.9 in the town of Wallkill.

As Troopers arrived on the scene, thankfully all the school bus and car occupants were standing waiting on the shoulder of the roadway because soon after they arrived both the car and school bus became fully engulfed in fire according to a press release. Police say that no injuries were reported due to the crash or fire and no one required medical attention.
What Happened?
The NYSP conducted a preliminary investigation that showed that the bus, which was carrying students back to Minisink after a volleyball match at Our Lady of the Lourdes School in Poughkeepsie, New York was rear-ended by the Hyundai.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation but law enforcement did say that there appears to be no impairment involved by either driver involved in the crash. When the investigation is completed and its results are announced we will update this article.
