
Police Rescue Dutchess County Man After Jump From Bridge
A Dutchess County man was rescued by police after he jumped from the Mid-Hudson Bridge on Friday.
According to a post on the Town of Lloyd Police Department's Facebook page, a man has survived jumping from the Highland side of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

Police are reporting that at approximately 1:52 p.m. Friday, June 6th, the Town of Lloyd Police Department (LPD) was dispatched to the Highland, NY side of the Mid-Hudson Bridge for a report of an individual who had just jumped off the bridge.
What Happened?
According to police, as the first unit arrived on the scene, they located an individual’s car on the span and were informed by bridge workers, who witnessed the incident, that the driver had jumped from the bridge.
LPD immediately contacted the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department (PFD) to join in the investigation to try and locate the individual who jumped.
Man Survives Jump From Mid-Hudson Bridge
Upon arrival, PFD quickly deployed its fire boat, and approximately 20 minutes later, was able to locate the individual alive. Police said that the unidentified man was found in the Hudson River "several hundred yards south of the bridge".

Once they were able to rescue the man from the water and get him onto the fire boat, PFD transported him to Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he was then transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.
