Mahopac, NY High School Football Coach Gets Shout Out from New York Jets
A Hudson Valley high school football coach is getting recognized by one of the more popular teams in New York.
Coach of The Week Goes to Hudson Valley Coach
The program is an opportunity to shine a light on local coaches and motivate student-athletes to achieve their goals. The New York Jets website explains further:
For 10 weeks during the football season the Jets and Gatorade present the High School Coach of the Week award to a coach in the tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to his community, his school and his student-athletes.
Mahopac Football Coach Recognized by Jets Organization
Last week a high school football coach from the Hudson Valley was given the honorary title. Coach Dominick DeMatteo was chosen and given a big shout-out by Jets head coach Robert Saleh. Take a look:

Each coach that is named Coach of The Week receives a $2,000 check for their high school's football program and then put in the running for Coach of The Year. At the end of the season, the Coach of The Year will receive $4,000 and will get a Gatorade Cooler Cart from The Jets and Gatorade.
