Another drug bust by local police that seized large amounts of hallucinogenic mushrooms and codeine.

According to the Times Herald Record, it all took place in Montgomery, when parole officers and Town of Montgomery police were attempting to arrest Richard Cooper on a parole warrant on Saturday and wound up finding a lot more than the suspect.

Police told the Record that they discovered a large amount of psychedelic mushrooms, a bottle of codeine and six mason jars full of marijuana at the home on Route 52.

The residence is also home to Justin Michel, and his 5-year-old daughter. After the drugs were found, the police arrested both men.

The charges for Cooper included the parole warrant, 2 felonies, first and second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor marijuana possession. He’s being held at Orange County Jail without bail.

Michel was also charged with 1 felony, first degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and is also being held without bail at the Orange County jail.

Michel and Cooper were both charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
