Local Animal Rescue Celebrates 10 Years of Saving Lives
The Hudson Valley is home to a ton of amazing animal rescues. Many have foster programs, but one dedicates their organization to it.
What Makes Take Me Home Pet Rescue Different Than Most Rescues
Take Me Home Pet Rescue dedicates their organization to fostering dogs.
TMH Pet Rescue has no shelter or facility, they rely on the kindness of their volunteers to open their doors as foster homes.
The Take Me Home Pet Rescue's website explains that it's their mission to "save lives of dogs and puppies who are in high kill shelters with a risk of being euthanized." They have their own van that transports animals 2 to 3 times a month between North Carolina and New York.
Donations made to Take Me Home Pet Rescue are used to improve the lives of the animals they save, and they're supported entirely through donations and adoption fees.
Celebrating 10 Years of Take Me Home Pet Rescue
TMH Pet Rescue has been up and running for 10 years now and they're looking to celebrate such a big milestone.
On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from noon until 3 pm, join Take Me Home Pet Rescue at Milton Dog Park in Milton, New York. There they will celebrate with the perfect day out for the dogs.
They'll offer delicious snacks courtesy of Weed Orchards and Winery and ice cream treats from Mary Jane's Dairy Bar. Plus, a dog trainer from Mountain Valley K9 will be on hand as well as staff from Middlehope Veterinary Hospital.
A Take Me Home Pet Rescue event wouldn't be complete without some adorable pups to meet. They'll have a handful of dogs on site who will be looking for their forever home.
You can get updates as well as meet adoptable pups from Take Me Home Pet Rescue on their social media accounts.
Take Me Home Pet Rescue Saves Abandoned Dog in Newburgh, NY
In early 2024, Take Me Home Pet Rescue took in a dog that was abandoned in a U-Haul truck in Newburgh, New York.
They later found out that the dog, who was later named Wilma, was pregnant. With the help of local fosters and donations, Take Me Home Pet Rescue was able to assist Wilma throughout her pregnancy.
Sadly, after several weeks of veterinary care Wilma lost her puppies but did find her forever family in the process.
