We know the Hudson Valley is rich with history, and sometimes that history takes a spooky turn.

Have you heard of The Legend of Lincoln's Ghost Train in Hyde Park?

Abraham Lincoln's Train Passes Through The Hudson Valley

We all know the story of President Abe Lincoln's assassination. He was enjoying a show at The Ford Theater in Washington D.C. on April 15th, 1865 when he was shot and killed by John Wilkes Booth.

After his assassination, arrangements were made to bring Lincoln's body to his final resting place in Springfield, Illinois. The journey would take him up the east coast from D.C. all the way up to New York and over to Illinois making stops for public viewing.

One of those stops was in Albany, New York. The train that Lincoln's body was on, passed through the Hudson Valley as well.

Many believe that the spirit and energy from Lincoln's train still makes an appearance in Dutchess County on the anniversary of it's arrival back in 1865.
