Jess’ Summer Country Playlist

Taking a look at our forecast for this weekend there's no mistake that summertime is finally here. Thank goodness. I wholeheartedly believe that country music is the soundtrack for summer.  "Summer Nights" by Rascal Flatts, "All Summer Long" from Kid Rock and Keith Urban's "Long Hot Summer"  are all staples on any summer country list.

But what do we have to look forward to for the Summer of 2016? Luckily Billboard.com came up with a list and I've done my own research. Here are a few songs you should keep in mind for your upcoming vacation/beach trip/road trip/adventure.

Cassadee Pope : "Summer"

I've had this song stuck in my head since I heard it and it just puts me in a good mood. Cassadee has made a pretty big come back with "Think of You"  the #1 duet with Chris Young. Cassadee's recently released the EP "Summer" with an additional three songs "Piano," "Kisses at Airports" and "Alien."

Sam Hunt: "Single For Summer"

I think the title of the song alone makes it a summer anthem. I love Sam Hunt and "Single For Summer," but this is by far his pop'iest song. Still makes for a great summer song.

Brett Young: "Sleep Without You"

We've got another Brett! Brett Young is fairly new to the country scene, but his first single has summer hit written all over it. "Sleep Without You" is off of Brett's first EP "Brett Young." He's signed to Big Machine Records...which is a really, really good sign.

Lindsay Ell: "By The Way"

This isn't a new song, but I feel like it would make a great addition to any summer playlist. Lindsay Ell has been opening up for some big acts like Keith Urban, The Band Perry, Luke Bryan and Gretchen Wilson.

Zac Brown Band- "Island Song"

You can always count on the Zac Brown Band to supply us with a summer hit. Right now, their single "Castaway" is burning up the charts, but "Island Song" is the summer song you've been waiting for.
