Jess is Taking Her Fret Zealot Lessons on the Road

My fingers are a bit calloused, but I'm finally feeling like an actual guitar player.

Hear me out and notice that I didn't say good guitar player. I recently started taking guitar lessons with Fret Zealot. For years I've wanted to learn guitar. During COVID lockdown, I even stole my brother's old guitar from high school and tried to teach myself ... Clearly, I failed miserably.

But now I have the opportunity to learn with light. Fret Zealot is this amazing app that syncs up with the lessons I'm learning on my phone and lights up my guitar so I can follow along with the notes I'm trying to learn.

I've always been a visual learner so this is helping me immensely as I strum along.

If you've been listening to The Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show then you've probably heard that we're hitting the road at the end of October for our anniversary show. Can you believe we've been on the air together for 8 years!?

It's been a hell of a ride, and we figured that to celebrate we'd do a little something called Jess Unplugged.

I'm taking my Fret Zealot guitar on the road and planning a LIVE PERFORMANCE with what I've been learning. But please for the love of everything that is holy, go easy on me. I'm still learning.

With that being said, I set a goal to have at least a full song learned by our first show on October 20th. In all honesty, Fret Zealot has given me the confidence to try out writing an original song about The Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show.
