The waterways in Putnam County are buzzing with social media stars.

Kayakers Greeted by Social Media Star on Lake Mahopac

While doing my daily scroll on TikTok today, the first video that popped up was one from Lake Mahopac. The fact that it was right in my backyard caught my attention.

In the video you can see a few kayakers and a larger pontoon type boat. A young voice then says "Hi Jake!" in the direction of the pontoon boat. The person on the boat responds with a kind greeting of "Hey buddy!"

The kid in the kayak seems excited, and while the video isn't clear enough for you to see Paul's face, you can hear Paul's distinct voice. Take a look and a listen:

I think that's all the confirmation that we need.

What is Jake Paul Doing on Lake Mahopac?

A quick search of "Jake Paul Lake Mahopac" on TikTok gave us all the information we needed. Paul is staying on Petra Island at the Massaro House, which is being called, for the time being, Betr Content House.

According to LinkedIn, Betr was founded in 2022 by Jake Paul and Joey Levy. The company is a "leading sports media company focused on enhancing the consumption of sports through entertainment."

With that being said over the last few days, videos have shown helicopters and boats going to and from the island and Betr's TikTok account has video of a bunch of influencers landing on on Petra Island.

What kind of content are they filming? So far, I've just seen videos of the creators fishing off the dock and climbing on the rocks around the Massaro House after they were told not to.

Once we find out what they're up to, we'll make sure to update this story.

Influencers Flood the Hudson Valley

Jake Paul isn't the only influencer in the Hudson Valley this summer.

Just last week basketball phenom and YouTube star Tristian Jass stopped by Rossi's Deli at Eastdale Village in Poughkeepsie. Jass of course enjoyed one of Rossi's famous sandwiches, but he was there to meet with fans and shoot some content. It's rumored that he went to a local high school to throw down on the court.

Food blogger, influencer, author and the mind behind the Instagram account Half Baked Harvest, Tieghan Gerard, was seen around Weed Orchard in Marlboro, New York working on a new project earlier this week.
