There are so many fun activities for us to experience in the Hudson Valley. Thankfully, we have endless options of places to explore for anything that we may be in the mood to do.

There are local beaches and parks for us to enjoy this summer as well.

What Beaches Can We Visit In The Hudson Valley?

Some beaches have opened for the season and there are others haven't opened just yet.

It’s great that we have beach options in the Hudson Valley especially during the warmer months. There’s Kingston Point Beach in Kingston along with Minnewaska Lake Beach in Gardiner for us to check out.

We can also explore ocal swimming holes including Split Rock at the Mohonk Preserve! I love that there’s a hidden gem in Sullivan County that has both a beach and a state park!

Which Sullivan County, NY State Park And Beach Is Open For The 2026 Season?

On Facebook, the Sullivan County, NY Government shared that Lake Superior State Park has opened! It is located at 342 Dr Duggan Rd in Bethel.

I didn't know about this park and beach until I attended a gathering there and loved it! It truly is a hidden gem that offers a wide variety of options for us to enjoy.

Starting on Memorial Day Weekend, we have been able to swim, enjoy their picnic location and rent boats. We can visit Lake Superior State Park every weekend from now until the end of June from 9am until 7pm.

This state park and beach will open daily from June 27, 2026 to September 7, 2026.

The Sullivan County Government also shared on social media that as of those dates, we can visit Lake Superior State Park Monday through Thursday from 10am to 6pm and Friday through Sunday from 10am until 6pm.

What Else Can We Experience At Lake Superior State Park In Bethel, NY?

The Sullivan County Government included that we can experience amenities on site at the Lake Superior State Park. Personally, I enjoyed having a picnic and going pedal boating!

We can also use their row boats, kayaks, canoes and more. There is also a volleyball net and playground for everyone in the family to enjoy. At Lake Superior State Park, there are two areas including the beach location and dam spot.

There is a $5 admission fee to enter this park. However, veterans who show their ID and children under the age of 3 can get into Lake Superior State Park for free, woohoo.
