While many Americans are struggling to make ends meet, it seems like the rich are still getting richer. This year, being a "regular" billionaire wasn't even enough to make Forbes' list, as they've increased the threshold of their rankings to a net worth of $10 billion or more. #8. The Tisch Family is Worth $10.1 Billion

The Tisch Family, with a reported net worth of $10.1 billion, is the lowest-ranking New York family on the Forbes list. In addition to their naming rights of New York University's Tisch School of Arts, the family has a 50% ownership stake of the New York Giants.

This year, the Rockefellers are the second-lowest ranking billionaire family in New York according to Forbes. Currently worth a reported $10.3 billion, the famed New York family barely made the list thanks to the new requirements. As a point of family pride, John D. Rockefeller founded the University of Chicago and was also America's first billionaire.
