
New Peekskill PD K9 Named After Fallen EF Sergeant
A Hudson Valley Police Department has welcomed a new K9 to their unit, while simultaneously paying tribute to a fallen officer who was tragically killed while responding to a call last December.
While the Hudson Valley continues to mourn the passing of Sergeant Daniel DiDato, they have also welcomed a new member to the force, K9 Danny.

Peekskill Police Department Welcomes K9 Danny
In the short time since the news of his arrival, K9 Danny has already gained quite a lot of love and attention from the community.
K9 Danny will join P.O. Nappi of the City of Peekskill Police Department, serving as his new partner.
Its official, Proud to announce my new partner “K9 Danny”named in honor of P.O. Daniel Didato of the East Fishkill Police department NY, where he served 18 years. LODD12/18/23. The loss of Charlie absolutely destroyed me and Danny is slowly healing my heart!
Members of the East Fishkill Police Department echoed P.O. Nappi's sentiments, welcoming K9 Danny to the force, and sharing their heartfelt appreciation and admiration to P.O. Nappi for honoring Sgt. Daniel DiDato when naming his new K9 partner.
We are truly touched by this act of kindness and it’s comforting to know Sgt. DiDato’s name will continue to live on. This proves that no matter what department we work for, we are all brothers and sisters in blue. Much respect to P.O. Nappi!
