These New York Colleges Cost $100K and Up Per Year

Student loans, and well the general cost of college, are always hot topics of conversation. For those who may have just dropped a child off at school for the first time over the past few weeks, even more relatable, and for those who just graduated, your loan payments will soon begin, you understand this all to well.

Business Insider, via the Education Data Initiative, reports that over 42.8 million Americans owe a balance on their student loans, with a current total outstanding federal student loan balance of nearly $1.7 trillion.

16 U.S. Colleges Surpass Six Figure Mark

Data from the Princeton Review indicated that there are now 16 colleges and universities across the nation with more than a $100,000 price tag, that is of course inclusive of tuition, fees, books, transportation, room and board and 'related expenses.'

These New York Schools Cost More Than $100,000 Per Year

CNBC, when reporting on the increasing number of schools that have crossed the $100,000 threshold, indicated that some of the smaller private institutions are 'losing ground to public schools,' some even offering discounts and merit aid to keep enrollment steady.

CNBCs latest list of six figure colleges and universities in 2026 is out, and it is likely not a surprise that a number of New York institutions are over the $100k mark when considering all fees and associated costs.
