We love to see it, the word FREE, and especially when it ties into the opportunity to take in the sights and scenes at one of the Hudson Valley's most breathtaking areas. FREE Mohonk Preserve Passes

It's once again that time of year for Health Ulster, with a very special opportunity for Ulster County residents. Beginning Thursday, March 27th, and running until Sunday, March 30th, visitors with a proof of Ulster County residency are eligible to get their hands on a FREE six-week pass for Mohonk Preserve, as part of the Healthy Ulster Pass Program.

Residents will need to bring that proof of residency to the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center at 3197 State Rte 55, Gardiner, NY 12525 between the hours of 9am and 6pm, 3/27- 3/30. Passes are distributed while supplies last, and are limited. There is a limit of four passes per household, but do keep in mind that children aged 15 and under are free. Those 15 and undr do need to be with an adult passholder to gain entry.

What Is Mohonk Preserve?

More than 8,000 acres of mountain ridges, forests, fields, streams, ponds, and what they refer to as 'other beautiful places,' Mohonk Preserve is New York's largest nonprofit nature preserve, welcoming more than 300,000 visitors each year. Most notably, Mohonk Preserve is home to the 'Gunks' which is regarded as one of the most visited climbing destinations in the states.
