In Touch: In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Miles of Hope
Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.
This week, Pari Forood, Executive Director of the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, stopped by our studios to talk about all that the foundation is doing and not just during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While their annual walk was held a few weeks ago, there are still many events you can attend to help raise much needed funds.
As Pari spoke about during the interview, the mission of Miles of Hope is to fund support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.
They help folks who may facing a medical gap, they will help pay your bills or reimburse you for ones you've already paid. In addition, they have a Peer-to-Peer hotline, 1-800-532-4290 where you can call anytime. If you've been newly diagnosed, if you are a breast cancer survivor and just need to talk with someone who understand your anxiety or issues you may be dealing with, they are there to help you.
Pari talked about all of this and more, better than I could ever write about, so without further ado, here's this week's show.
If you, or someone you know, is involved with a non-profit organization here in the Hudson Valley and would like an opportunity to come on the show and talk about what is important to you. Please let me know, leave a message here or email me at beth.christy@townsquaremedia.com
