Large Skeleton Display at a House in Highland, New York

I get so excited about Halloween decorations. Every year I stand in wonder at some of the unbelievable displays people are able to put together in their yards. I stumbled over one display this weekend that I just had to share. It actually has a Dragon Skeleton.

I will admit it felt a bit weird to take pictures of someone's front lawn knowing I was going to share them with all of you but I couldn't help myself this display is so creepy and amazing I had to share it. Hopefully, the family won't mind, after all, you must want everyone to see it if you went to this much trouble to transform your yard into tho this crazy skeleton display. I am going to go with they want people to stop by and look.

Huge Halloween Display at House in Highland, New York

In my weekly travels, I regularly pass this house which is at the crossroads of a few backroads in the Town of Lloyd. The town lines on the backroads get confusing so I am going to say this is Highland. Since the first time I saw the Horse Skelton and Carriage Hearse, I have admired the work that has gone into this display each year.

This is the Halloween equivalent of Clark Griswold's House. I have driven by this place for many Halloweens and this year they have outdone themselves. I have to try and catch it at night. I will admit I have a bit of yard envy with this display not even the Lowes witch can top this yard full of skeletons.

Where to Find The Big Halloween Skeleton Display in Highland, New York

Enormous Halloween Display has Floating Witches in Highland, New York

Along with the floating witches, this display includes a skeleton horse pulling an old-fashioned hearse. They have also recently added the Skelton Dragon and a Skeleton Mermaid.

The Skeleton Horse pulling the old window-style hearse has been part of this display for years and it is probably my favorite part.

It just so happens that this display is located near three old family cemeteries in New Paltz, New York.

Old Family Cemeteries in the Hudson Valley

These four old family cemeteries are within a few miles of each other in the Town of Lloyd. If you are familiar with the area you have most likely driven by one. My question is have you ever stopped and taken a moment to think about history? Some of the people in these old family plots lived in the Hudson Valley during the 1700s. One thing I do ask is if you do come across an old cemetery please be respectful. These grounds are someone's final resting place they should be treated that way no matter how you find them. Taking anything other than possibly a stone rubbing is unacceptable.

The Hudson Valley has some wonder candle shops. Some offer gatherings and places for you to make your own candles. One of them you can find in Woodstock, New York has been making and burning candles since 1969. Candles never go out of style.
