Season 5 of Downton Abbey began this past Sunday night and once again those of us who are enthralled with all things Downton are thrilled. What will this season hold in store for the Crawley family?

Only time will tell, but you don't have to wait until Sunday nights to immerse yourself in the world of Downton. The Staatsburgh Historic Site (Mills Mansion) is offering a glimpse into the Hudson Valley's real-life counterparts of the Crawleys with Downton Abbey Tours every other Saturday beginning January 10. Each tour runs from 1:00-2:30 and will be conducted by a costumed guide who will walk you through this magnificent home discussing the roles and lives of Staatsburgh’s family and servants as they prepare for a weekend of lavish entertaining at the mansion. Cost is $10 for adults and $8/seniors & students. Reservations are required.

In addition, they will also be holding Gilded Age Tea & Talks:You will enjoy tea and refreshments in the servants' dining hall while listening to  that month's talk about different topics in regards to Gilded Age etiquette. Each tea is from 1-2:30. The topic for January 25 will be Dinner Etiquette, February 15th will be Love and Marriage in the Gilded Age, and March 8 will be Visiting Etiquette and Calling cards. Reservations are required and the cost is $30 per person $25 for Friends of Mills Mansion members.
