For the historical binge watcher in your family, this could be a fun experience.

I'm always looking for new things to do around the Hudson Valley. Things that interest me or open my eyes and help me see the Hudson Valley in a different light. I also need a reason to give Netflix a rest. But why not mix your Netflix obsession and some historical Hudson Valley fun? We'll look no further than right in your backyard.

Of course you know the Hudson Valley is jam packed with historical goodness, but Staatsburgh is putting a different twist on things. They are using their historical tour and putting a Downton Abbey spin on it. Quick note, I've never watched Downton Abbey because those style show just aren't my thing. However, an interactive tour seems like it would keep my attention. According to the website the tour will highlight Staatsburgh's "real-life counterparts of the "Downton Abbey" characters." It will touch upon how servants would prepare for a weekend of entertaining and more scandalous topics like how the Millses' daughter (who is apparently some what like the character Cora) married into British aristocracy.

Catch the Downton Abbey themed Staatsburgh tour this winter, January 14th, February 18th and March 18th. Tickets are $10 for adults, seniors and students $5 and children under 12 are free. If you would like to attend a reservation is needed. Call 845 889 8851.
