Yesterday was an exciting day for one Hudson Valley high school student.

On Wednesday, December 20th, Spackenkill High School senior Kyiev Bennermon officially signed his letter of intent to play football for Boston College. According to the Boston College Football twitter account, Bennermon was reportedly New York's top defensive tackle prospect this year.

You could say Spackenkill's head coach Clinton DeSouza is excited for his stand-out student athlete. DeSouza says "It's a big moment for him and his family and a golden opportunity to get a great education and play big time football."

As for how Bennermon is feeling DeSouza tells us that the future Boston College Eagle is "feeling excited and anxious to get going. I know he feels very blessed, humbled and honored."

Bennermon finished his senior year season with 79 tackles and 3 sacks.

The Spackenkill football program is no stranger to the spotlight, earlier this fall former Spartan Carlos Abalos made it on to ESPN's Sports Center with an amazing leap during football practice at The College at Brockport in Brockport, New York.
